Pretty in Pink
I made Ellie the elephant as a baby card for a baby girl. This is another card made with the cricut. Ellie is layered in different shades of pink and the inside of her ears are scrap pieces from the grad cards made here and here. The inside of the card has a simple sentiment for the new parents and baby. In hindsight, I wish that I added a little bow to her head to give it that added girlish touch. I guess, I can always go back and add it on.

Pops of Color & Circumstance
More grad cards. I didn't have a lot of time to create and I need to make 5 grad cards, so all of these are very simple. These literally took less then half an hour to complete. The pops of color really do help make the card stand out a little bit better. I used all my scrap pieces to create these cards. I've been really trying to use up all my scrap pieces, the scraps are piling up like crazy. I've been using them to make punches and stuff like that. I get scrap crazy and try to use up every little piece possible, it gets to the point where it becomes an obsession! I really need to practice better organizational skills when it comes to scrap pieces and all the little here and there etc. of things that I collect through the creative process and trial and error.

Stick It
Working on some things for my shop! Here is a little preview of what is yet to come. I've been dabbling in vinyl here and there and will be adding more vinyl stickers to my shop. Of course I will have some Hello Kitty items, like the ones shown above. Shown is Hello Kitty and her friend Kathy Bunny. I will also be making some other designs. Stay tuned for more updates!!

GRAD-ually getting there
Another simple graduation card made with the cricut. I'm loving this color combo! I've really been feeling the yellows and grays lately. Gray can be a little boring at times, but throw in a bright color for some pop and it really changes the overall look. Even using a patterned gray like I did, really changes up the dullness of the color.
Happy Saturday!!

Who the cap fits...
With graduation season in full swing, I was asked to make a bunch of cards. Here is a simple card that I made using the cricut. The inside pops up, I felt that it was enough so I decided not to add anything else to the inside. There's still room to write your own little sentiment and of course sign your name! Stay tuned for more on the way!!
Just wanted to share a little break time music with the BOB video!! It's a little bit of advice to the grads, esp. the high school youngsters about to embark in the new world! Open your eyes and be aware of the people you surround yourself with.

Keepin' it fruity
Here is another project for this weeks Lime, Orange & Plum challenge. I decided to go with the old standby and make a mini pocket card. I used the same butterflies as the first entry, and added a smiley tulip. Another simple card made using only the cricut machine. This color combo is really starting to make me see things in a whole new light! I'll be trying some other different color combos soon!

Lime, Plum, Orange
This weeks challenge is Lime, Orange and Plum. I have been a little busy, so I wasn't able to get real crafty with this project. I hope to enter another project within the next couple of days. This is a little flower top favor box. That I cut out with me cricut, from the cartridge tags, bags and boxes. The butterfly is also cut with the cricut from the create a critter cartridge. I never worked with this color combo before, but am pleased with how it looks together! It is kinda like a more upbeat fall look?! I am going to try using these colors together more often.
Touch and Color
This weekend was filled with all kinds of events, I decided to take some pictures of textures and colors that were around me. Isn't it neat how you can be fascinated and inspired by the simple beauty of things around you? I went to a plant show and was elated by the colors and textures. Taking a step back and paying attention to the colors and textures, really got my mind stewing with a lot of new ideas. I want to dabble a bit more into the texture side of things. The patterns of a lot of the plants were so interesting to me, it really made me think of how much more I should be incorporating texture and patterns in my projects. Where do you find your inspiration?

Tutorial: Baby Mobile
For this weeks challenge, I decided to take a leap not a hop! (haha!, everyone's a comedian at some point.)
I made this baby mobile for one of my besties! She's expecting any moment now and I can't wait! It's her second child, but first boy! I went with the blue hues, and used the ocean theme.
Materials:
-Ribbons of your choice
-Glue
-Crochet Hoop(any size to your liking)
-Felt cutouts, shapes, animals, flowers, etc.
-Buttons
-Shower Ring
-Scissors
-Patience

Step 1: Take your crochet hoop
Take the part of the crochet hoop with the metal part and separate it from the second hoop. We are using the second hoop without the metal on it
Step 2: Get a ruler or your measuring stick of choice, your scissors and ribbons. We are going to cut our ribbons. It looks more uniformed if they are all similar in length, but if you want to make them all different lengths it is up to you.
Depending on the size of your hoop, will determine how many ribbons you will need to cut.
Step 3: Choose your cutouts
Take a ribbon and apply some glue to the part of the ribbon that you want to place a cutout
Now add your cutout
Continue to add your cutouts to your ribbons.
Step 4: Now we are ready to glue our ribbons to outer edge of our hoop.
Continue to glue your ribbons around your hoop, until your entire hoop is covered
Let this dry for about 5 mins, before continuing to the next step.
Now take your ribbon and cover the rim of the hoop.
Once again, we are going to let this dry for about 5 mins.
Step 6: Now we are going to cover this layer of ribbon with our buttons. Once again we are going to apply a layer of glue so we can start applying our buttons.
Continue this around the hoop, until the entire hoop is covered with buttons.
Let this set for 5 mins.
Step 7: Now we are going to add ribbons to the inner part of the hoop. For this part I recommend that you use a little thicker ribbon, but you can experiment with this and try out what works for you. I used 4 pieces of 1in. sheer ribbon. This is the part is the part that we are hanging. Cut the ribbon at the length of your choice. You might want to gauge it accordingly to the lengths that you cut your other ribbons.
Step 8: For this step, we are going to decide where to glue the ribbons. Depending on how many ribbons you are using, measure out where you want to place them. Since I used 4 ribbons, I decided to put the ribbons at 12, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock. I marked it with a pen, so I know more or less where to put my ribbon.
After you do this step it's time to glue your ribbons down.
Let the glue set and dry for about 5-10 mins.
Step 8: This is the last step. We are going to take our shower curtain ring and tie each end of our ribbons to the ring.
Now that your ribbons are all tied up, you can hang up your mobile!

***NOTES
**For this project I used my favorite glue, Beacon's 3 in 1 glue! It's awesome, quick drying and easy to work with
**I used grosgain, sheer and satin ribbons
**Felt cutouts were from Darice, but you could easily use paper if you wanted to
**Have fun and experiment with your design
Hop on to the next page! I hope you enjoy the blog hop!!
