Draw This

Here's a funny little game that you can play at any get together or party.  It's as easy as A-B-C, great for any age.

What you need: paper plates/ or hard surface and paper
pens

Pass one to everyone playing
Have them place it on their head and wait for instructions
This next part, you need to plan ahead of time.  You will be giving instructions on things to draw, feel free to direct it towards your age group, theme or anything that you feel is appropriate for the group that you're playing with.  You want to have at least 7 different things for your guests to draw.

Ex.
1.) Draw a line for the ground
2.) Draw a tree
3.) Draw the sun in the sky
4.) Draw a dog next to the tree
5.) Draw a person walking the dog
6.) Draw a cloud in the sky
7.) Draw a fire hydrant on the other side of the tree

After everyone is done drawing their picture, let them look at it.  Now we are going to give points for what they have drawn.

1.) 2 pts. if the tree touches the ground
2.) 1 pt. if the sun is in the sky
3.) 2 pts. if the dog is next to the tree
4.) 2 pts. if the person is walking the dog
5.) 1 pt. if the cloud is in the sky
6.) 2 pts. if the hydrant is on the other side of the dog
7.) extra pts. for any other details that you may have added on your own ( apples on the tree, collar on the dog, dog house, etc.)

Let everyone tally up their pts. and the person with the most pts. wins!

I recently played this game and it was a hit!! I highly recommend giving it a try.  If you're playing with kids, make it a little more simple with things that they can relate to.

Cheers!

Critters

Here a lil something that I've been working on! These are all animals from the create a critter cartridge from cricut.  These aren't even half of what that cartridge has to offer!  If you have a cricut and don't have this cartridge yet, I suggest you get it.  It's a great cartridge to have, it has all different types of animals, it also has phrases to match and even accessories!  This cartridge is money well spent.  I am planning on doing a bunch of different things with these characters that I'm making.  Stay tuned to see what's next with these little critters!

Lava Flow

Blend banana, coconut cream, and pineapple juice in blender and set aside. In bottom of hurricane glass, stir together both rums and strawberries. Pour banana/coconut/pineapple mix into glass slowly. The strawberry/rum mix should creep up the sides of the glass to make a happy hour cocktail!

Beat the heat this summer and make yourself a refreshing cocktail!  So yummy and so pretty at the same time!! Keep cool this summer!

This is a real lava flow! Isn't it stunning?! I think it's such a sight to see! Mother nature never ceases to amaze me.  If you ever get a chance to visit a flowing volcano, do it! Put it on your bucket list!!

This recipe can also be found in the cocktails section in the top menu as well as the right side bar.

Craft Wars

I finally got a chance to watch Craft Wars!!  It is pretty inspiring! I highly recommend it for all you crafters/diyers out there!  Even if you're not that crafty, but can appreciate something handmade it's easy viewing.  You never know, it might even inspire you to pick up a glue gun and start a project of your own.   Tori Spelling is the host of the show, along with her there are 3 judges, Stephen Brown, Erika Domesek & Jo Pearson.  All come with high accolades in the design and craft world!

The competition takes place in a warehouse with a gigantic craft wall, filled with every craft item you could think of!  It's a crafters wet dream! They also have a wood shop and paint area outside for their use as well.  The 1st round all 3 contestants are allowed to bring in 1 assistant of their choice to help them with the challenge.  The challenge is given, along with a load of supplies having to do with the challenge, and each have 1 hour to complete it.  The judges watch as the contestants go through the whole process from stat to finish and critique their creations.  1 contestant is eliminated after the 1st round and the other 2 move on to the final round.  The final round the contestants are given 5 hours to complete the challenge.  The final round follows pretty much the same format, except this round they get a  team of helpers to help them get everything done. The judges look for design, esthetic, function, durability & style.  After the judges go through the critiquing process again, 1 crafter is crowned the winner and takes home a $10,000 prize!

After watching the first 3 episodes, I wanted to jump in and follow along! I think that the hardest part is being able to think quick on your feet.  You literally have to think on the spot, and just start getting things done on the fly.  There is no time for trial and error at all.  It really is a challenge, and in the end it is a war!

If you haven't had the chance to watch this yet, I say give it a whirl! It's on TLC on Tuesdays, check you local listings for times. If you have seen it, what do you think??

No Work, Just Play

This weeks challenge on Tuesday Alchemy is No work, just play! Something that I'm sure a lot of us are familiar with?! I wish that my crafting would take more of a role so it would become my work!! Do what you love, love what you do! Words to live by!! I made this card with my favorite girl! Hello Kitty in her kini, spending a day at the beach having fun in the sun.  The front of the card is Hello Kitty, the inside has her beach ball and the back is her sand castle with her new friend Mr. Crab! This card can be used as an all occasion card, especially for me living in beautiful Hawaii.  I hope that you enjoyed this card, and please visit the blog and the other members of the design team. If you're feeling inspired, feel free to join in on this weeks challenge.
