Boris is so not boring...

I was so pleased with my 1st purchase from cuore, that when Mika the lovely shop owner told me about her upcoming stationery line I just had to get it!  It's not yet listed in her shop, but I'm sure if you contact her she will be more than willing to work with you.  I received this in the mail yesterday, and was so excited to open up the package.  Even her packaging is the best!  You can have anything you want personalized on the stationery and there's even different color envelopes that you can choose from.  I am a huge fan of this shop!  She recently listed some very cute items for St. Patrick's day, so go check them out before they're all gone!  Isn't Boris the cutest?!! Tuesday Alchemy Week 3 Challenge

Challenge #3 - Color Inspiration: Peacock & Plums

This weeks challenge was to incorporate specific colors in your creation.  I LOVE Purple, so this challenge was a happy one for me!  I decided to make a tag with an ocean theme using the colors for the challenge.

Girls Day

I recently wrote about making something for Girl's day.  I found these super cute Hero Arts stamps recently, and made a promise to myself that I will use them no matter what.  The designs are all asian themed, so it's perfect for the upcoming girls day celebration.  It is so cute!!  I tried out this image first, it's of this Kawaii kokeshi doll.  She's got a little swag if you ask me!!  She's not so traditional and she's a lot of fun!! I decided to go simple, and let the image be the main feature.  This style is card, is a square pocket card that opens up from the top.  There's a flat blank card inside to write a little message on.  I accented it with butterflies and sakura flower.  I think I want to name her Mari-chan!!  More Girls day crafts to come!!

Hiatus

I'm back!  I was on a little hiatus...Sometimes you just need to take a little break and sometimes you're forced to take a break!  I've heard this quote before, but I'm not sure who said it.

"When your body is tired, exercise your mind."

This is a great quote, I've been exercising my mind a lot lately!  I've had a lot of time on my hands, and it made me realize that I do tend to move at a quick pace, where I do neglect my body and health.  I am going to take better care of my health from here on out.  I will make that a new goal of mine, and am making a conscious effort to change things in my life.

Smiles in the mail

When I checked the mail today, it was my surprise to find this unexpected package.  It was from a fellow etsy shop owner, Sylvia!  We have established a relationship within the last so many months.  Although we have never met, we have developed a special bond through email.  She is very talented and makes all kinds of cute things.  She sent me the cutest cell phone charm, with of course no other than Hello Kitty!  It's a bell and whenever she moves she rings!  I love it!! Eye + Heart + Ewe

This was my entry for the first week of the Tuesday Alchemy challenge.  The challenge was RUFFLES!  Since it was featured on Valentine's Day, I figured that I should do something to go with that theme.  I drew out the eyeball with a sharpie, since I couldn't find a better way to showcase something for "I".  The heart was the ruffle part of my creation.  I cut out a larger heart for the bottom as my template, then I punched out a bunch of tiny hearts and layered it on top of each other to create ruffles.  For the ewe, I used the cricut cartridge, create a critter.  I added cotton balls to her head to add some dimension, and give her that fluff look.  The inside of the card is blank for writing a special note to that special someone.  I just added a heart to the corner to give it a little dimension.  This was a fun challenge, I have to admit that I was stuck for a bit, not knowing what to do with it.  I guess that's why it's called a challenge.  I like how it allows me to really think about trying different things.  Stay tuned for next weeks challenge!

Cuore

Came home to goodies in my mailbox!!  This was a Valentine's day gift to myself! Arm/Ring Candy

Inspired by my outfit today, decided to take a picture of my arm and ring candy.  I love accessories!! It's amazing how a great accessory can punch up your look that much more!!  I should've taken a picture of the colors in my dress to compliment my accessories.  This color combo is making me want to create something with this same color palette. 

New Ideas

Since I started using my new Eclips machine, I have been trying a lot of different ideas.  I wish that they would have a Eclips for dummies book.  I have been using the ECAL program and I'm still trying to figure out the basics and see how everything works.  It's basically trial and error and I'm finding that I'm coming up with more error!?  I guess it's a process, so I just need to be patient.  I'm sure that no one gets it all down on the first crack.  The upside is that with this new machine and new program, I've been coming up with a lot of new ideas that I want to try out.  It's so awesome, and I want to make things that I don't see out there.  I'm looking forward to perfecting this program!! Crossing my fingers!!

Keeping up with the Crafting continues

As the days keep going on, I am finding myself slowly drowning in all different projects.  I didn't have to much success in the Valentine's Day crafts, I guess my heart just isn't that into it?! (no pun intended) I am currently working on a bunch of different birthday invitations, 3 to be exact.  1 is sports themed, the 2nd is Mickey Mouse, and the last is still to be determined.  I am working on a project that will be featured next week on Tuesday Alchemy , so please be on the lookout for that.  Other than that, I've just been keeping up on things for my shop and will also be donating a bunch of things for a fundraiser in April.  Keeping a steady pace, and going through life taking things as they come.
