Feedly more

I know that I've been a slacking a lot lately.  I am super sorry!! This is totally late, but you know how it goes...better late, than never!  As many of you know, on July 1 google reader ended! :(  If you're like me, and really depended on reader then you were sadden by the stress of having to figure out what's next.  I was so bummed out the months leading up to July, trying to figure out a replacement for reader.  I do use blog lovin, but I wanted to find something with a little more ease.  I was a little slack on the days before reader retiring.  For some reason, I thought there was another week or so? After the 1st, I sat down at the computer and told myself that I need to take care of this now and find a replacement for reader.  That's where, I stumbled upon feedly!! It was so simple to sync everything from reader to feedly!!  I was so pleased.  Now, I'm so behind on my reading.  I've been playing catch up all month.  It is my goal to try to get up to date by this week.  I downloaded the feedly app to my phone, that really helps!  I totally recommend it!!  Take it for a test drive. and see how you like it!!
Thanks for everything google reader, you've been good to me.  Feedly has got me now!

Catching up with Moorea Seal 52 lists, here is my week 2 list!  Week 2 is to list your greatest comforts!  Like I mentioned in week 1, making lists helps you find out about yourself.  It is also very liberating to actually put your feelings down in print and see it starring back at you.

Hello Kitty Folder

This week we have 2 great sponsors:

Be sure to check out their sites for all their goodness!!

I decided to make one of my folders for this challenge!  Of course it's Hello Kitty!  I used a mead folder for this project, it is very durable, inexpensive and has a lot of pockets!  I used the My Little Twin Stars paper tape and ran it across the folder from end to end creating a stripped look.  I made the Hello Kitty head with my big shot in coordinating colors, light blue and brown.  This color combo is great for someone who likes Hello Kitty, but not really girly or that into pink.  A very simple project, and a great way to add some excitement to a regular folder.

Keepin' it fruity

Here is another project for this weeks Lime, Orange & Plum challenge.  I decided to go with the old standby and make a mini pocket card.  I used the same butterflies as the first entry, and added a smiley tulip.  Another simple card made using only the cricut machine.  This color combo is really starting to make me see things in a whole new light! I'll be trying some other different color combos soon!

Storytelling

I recently read an article on etsy, about telling your everyday story.  I found it very interesting and wanted to share it and try it out as well.  I often feel like my posts are not as interesting as I would like, and have been trying to find ways to change things up.  The article is about exercises that you can practice to make your posts more interesting.

-Start off by writing down the following:
1.) 3 things you see or hear right now
2.) 3 things you did last week
3.) 3 exchanges you had with someone else

1.) Unforgettable playing on the radio, clicking of the keys on the keyboard, birds flying by
2.) Make a mobile, drive to the beach, wash clothes
3.) Exchanged emails with my challenge blog leader, had a text conversation with a friend, chatted with my gma

-Next step is to Ask why: Pick 1 item from your list and ask "why?", until you find something interesting

i drove to the beach. WHY? i needed to relieve stress.

Repeat until you do indeed find something interesting:  if you can't find anything, move on to the next
Asking “Why?” will help you travel through different terrains — boring, negative, positive, interesting — and eventually you’ll arrive at worthwhile.

i exchanged emails with my challenge blog team leader.  WHY? because i didn't know how to translate languages in the comments section of my blog.  WHY? because I've never done it before. WHY? never had any foreign readers comment on my blog before. WHY? I don't know.

-Keep going: practice each week, it will start to get easier and then it will quickly transition from an element of your daily activities to a picture, video or a few words and it will become natural.

This is something that I will try to practice religiously! I want it to become natural and be more exciting.
Do you find that you have a hard time finding interesting things to write about?  What is your thought process in getting it all down in your blog?
